Top of the World Restaurant at the Stratosphere Las Vegas
While there are many fun things to do in Las Vegas, the Top of the World Restaurant provides some of the best views of the strip in Las Vegas. I visited the Stratosphere Las Vegas a few years ago just to go to the restaurant. The rotating view of the Las Vegas strip really overshadows whether the food and service were any good, but of course that was more than satisfactory.
The downside to the trek to the Stratosphere is that it is at the northernmost end of the casinos on the strip. If you are down to the south, you’ll definitely want to take a taxi up there.

Another tip I’d suggest is that the view of the strip is best seen at night and more specifically at sunset. Make reservations for your dinner at sunset for a romantic view and then after sundown, you’ll also catch the fantastic views of Las Vegas at night.
On our visit to the Stratosphere for dinner, they also had a photographer come by and take your picture during dinner. The pictures were ready for purchase when we finished up. If you don’t want to spring for those pictures, I don’t remember how much they cost, you can also ask the wait staff to take a picture with your own camera.
After dinner we went down to the casino and signed up for what is now called the Ultimate Rewards Club and gambled a bit. It should be standard practice for you to sign up for any comp card the casino offers. If you do that, you’ll eventually get some offers from the casino you join. The Stratosphere was no different as we did get some offers to return at a later time. In addition, I know that they offered some goodies when we signed up, but don’t think that we used any at the time.
Aside from the casino, the Stratosphere in Vegas is also know for some thrills, offering some amusement park rides at the top. Those are the Big Shot that shoots you straight up into the air, the X-scream a giant teeter totter which puts you out over the edge, and Insanity, the Ride which also propels you over the side. If thrills aren’t your speed, you can just visit the Observation Tower, something we didn’t do since we had dinner. You have to have tickets for the rides and observation deck and can check the Stratosphere Vegas hotel website for current prices.
The Stratosphere also has a private pool area called Beach Club 25 Stratosphere that allows for topless-optional sunbathing which as much as I’d like to say we checked out, I believe it’s for guests 21 and older only.
Although we haven’t been back yet, it’s definitely worth a visit at least once as one of the major attractions. Be sure and check out the Top of the World Restaurant at Stratosphere Las Vegas as one of the top things to do in Las Vegas.
